Activities:

CITY TOUR

This excursion will allow you to know Mendoza City, one of the most beautiful cities in Argentina. You will visit the old city, where Mendoza was founded, and then you will stop in Alameda, the downtown. The Civic Center, General San Martin Park, Cerro de la Gloria (“Glory Hill”), the World Cup Soccer Stadium and the Frank Romero Day Amphitheater, which is the central stage of Vintage National festival are the main spots of this city.

FD wine tour (maipu valley)

Early in the morning you will meet the oenologist who will accompany you throughout the wine  tour. You will depart to Mendoza’s agricultural oasis and visit two wineries, in the Maipú or Luján wine circuits, where you will enjoy a wine tasting session.

At noon, you will have lunch, during which you will begin to familiarize with the local wines and the elaboration process: you will participate in an introductory lecture, in which our oenologist will explain you the technique of wine tasting, wine production techniques, the importance of the cork in the bottle and the correct way to handle a glass in order to taste wine.

In the evening we will visit another winery and enjoy the last wine tasting session.

Tours visit different vineyards among the following options:

Option 1: La Rural, Finca Flichman, CarinaE, Tempus Alba, Reyter, Viña el Cerno, López,  Tapaus, Tierras Altas.  Lunch at Familia Zuccardi.

Option 2: Dolium, Nieto Senetiner, Fabre Montmayou, Chandon, Norton, Carmelo Patti, Septima, Renacer, Catena Zapata. Lunch at Ruca Malen.

Option 3: Cavas de Weinert, Alta Vista, Lagarde, Tapiz, Viña Amalia, Familia Barberis, Luigi Bosca, Viniterra. Lunch at Hacienda del Plata or Cava de Cano.

 

FD wine tour (uco valley)

Early in the morning you will meet a specialized guide who will accompany you during the wine tour. You will depart to the Valle de Uco (“Uco Valley”) agricultural oasis of beautiful landscapes where are located the most prestigious wineries, 100 km away from Mendoza City. During the tour you will visit three new wineries to learn about the production process and taste different types of wines.

At noon you will have lunch at a recognized restaurant in a winery, enjoying a gourmet menu. As the sun sets behind the Andes Mountains, we’ll return to Mendoza City.

Optional visits to Wineries in Uco Valley:

Salentein, Altus, Monteviejo, Clos de los 7, Lurton, Andeluna, La azul, O`Fournier, La Celia, Pulenta Estate.

Lunch at Salentein, Altus and O’Fournier wineries. 

 

VILLAVICENCIO

 

Northwesterly, along Route No 7 you will see cement factories and limestone quarries. This Route has a historical background, as it was scene of the Liberator Army with San Martin as a leader on his way to Chile. Canota Monument and ruins is one of the spots where an important part of Argentine history took place. After a winding road you will arrive to the Villavicencio old hotel. This area is famous for its natural mineral watersprings, famous worldwide for its healing properties. From here you will have a great panoramic view from its spirals. Return to Mendoza.

high mountain

The High Mountain way consists of visiting, walking and enjoying mountain’s immensity and highlighting its landscape richness.

Travelling along the Pan American route you will appreciate beautiful panoramas such as Cacheuta, Potrerillos and Uspallata. You will visit the historical Puente de Picheuta, Polvaredas, Paramillos and Punta de Vacas.

Later on, you will arrive at Los Penitentes Ski Center and to Puente del Inca (‘Inca’s Bridge’) to admire its fabulous geological shape and enjoy its hot thermal waters. Then, you will enter into Aconcagua Park and do a mini trekking to arrive to Los Horcones lagoon and get from there the best view of Mount Aconcagua (the Highest Peak in America). Finally, you will continue up to Las Cuevas (‘The Caves’). Return to Mendoza.

 

CAÑON DEL ATUEL

During this excursion you will visit Luján, Tunuyán, San Carlos and San Rafael areas, which are about 230 km away from Mendoza City.

You will visit Diamante River and Cañon del Atuel River (‘Atuel River Canyon’): an incredible combination of colors and shapes that can be seen on the rocky walls because of erosion effects. You will also visit Valle Grande Dike, which will allow you to discover on its hillside a figure called “The Ghost”.

Other places you will visit are Valle de los Monjes Perdidos (‘The Lost Monks Valley’), Mesa de las Brujas (‘The Witches’ Table’) and El Nihuil Dike, which is a hydroelectric complex, and much more. You will be impressed by spectacular landscapes that you will never forget. Return to the starting point.

 

Cooking class & maritage

There is not grater pleasure than having the perfect balance between exquisite gourmet dishes and the best of Andes´ wines! Transfer to the selected restaurant where you will begin with an introductory talk about wine tasting in order to understand its properties, guided by an expert. Then, you will participate in a cooking class and prepare your own dishes guided by a real gourmet.

The chef will teach the participants how to elaborate some regional dishes in a couple of hours. Everyone will have a place and the necessary kitchen utensils. Finally, you’ll end enjoying the menu, accompanied by house wines.

Depending on your previous experience you can ask for different categories of descents. You will be transferred from your hotel to the starting point of the adventure. You’ll be provided with waterproof or neoprene suits, helmets and life jackets. You’ll experience amazing and exciting moments surrounded by awesome landscapes.

“the ceiling of america” horseback tour    

Riding at heights over 11,000 ft. through small trails, past fairy tales valleys and colorful creeks is the best experience available at Mendoza for nature, adventure and horse riding lovers. You cannot miss the Aconcagua region, the Mecca of mountaineering. In these uninhabited places – that you can only reach on horseback – where huge herds of guanacos roam freely and the Andean condor nests. Besides, these are also historic spots as in 1817 the Los Andes Army – leaded by San Martin – used these paths on their way to Chile to liberate Chile from Spanish domain.

As the sun sets, the spectacular stars of the Southern Hemisphere will cover the sky. Relax at different camps with their peaceful atmosphere and feel the timeless spirit of nature and make new friends. On the seventh day you will end your trip rafting the Mendoza River, the region’s best. Our long experience guarantees an unforgettable vacation, hopefully, the trip of a lifetime.

We want to invite you to share with us the privilege of reediting one of the most amazing achievements in the history of mankind. Crossing the Andes through the exact same spot San Martín and his "Army of the Andes" did in 1817 to free the people of Chile from its European monarchs. Thought for a small group of enthusiasts of nature and history, this wilderness is flanked by the highest mountains in America: the Aconcagua (20,900ft.) and the Mercedario (20,700 ft.)

Info: 8 days/7 nights, 6 full riding days. Upon request during season (1 Sep. - 15 May) Type of Horses: mules or ‘Criollos’. ‘Recado’ saddles (Typical ‘Gaucho’ Saddle used in Argentina).
